VOICE over IP - SOLUTION WITH
CISCO GATEWAY
Using VoIP with the Cisco gateway
Prepaid Call Scenario
A customer dials the ISPs Gateway number and will be
asked to enter his PIN number. After entering the PIN, the Gateway
will transfer the authentication packet to the RADIUS Server, which
calls the authentication procedure in RODOPI. If the customer is
successfully authenticated, RODOPI returns the credited amount of
money left on the customers’ account to the RADIUS. Radius sends it
to the Gateway and the Gateway will announce this to the customer. If
the credit is greater than zero, the customer will be asked to enter
his/her destination number. After entering RADIUS for the second
time, the system will call the authentication procedure in RODOPI.
This time RODOPI calculates the remaining time for this call
depending on the rate to this destination, which is determined by
RODOPI. The remaining time will be announced to the customer just
before the call is established. The call is established, and after
call termination, the credit of the customer will be decremented in
RODOPI. If the credit limit is reached during the call the Cisco
Gateway warns the customer and then terminates the call. Afterwards,
the CDR billing record will be passed through RADIUS in RODOPI.
