We have multiple

Q. How do I pay for
POP- Depot? Do I pay fees on a monthly or hourly
basis?
A. POP-Depot offers two services:
-
per hour roaming: charged per
hour, $0.70 to buy and $0.60 to sell.
-
flat fee roaming: you pay monthly
for a single account use of all of another
ISP's POPs, not all POPs in POP Depot. $7.00
to buy and $6.00 to sell. MegaPOP services are
sold at $8.50/month.
Prices are subject to change. Both
options are available with Rodopi 5.0 or newer and
this
module.
Q. Do I need to change
my ISP setup in order to participate ?
A. You need to add a Proxy Radius Server to your
operations. Most of the Proxy Radius Servers on the
market (both UNIX and NT based) will work with Rodopi
Club™ Roaming. Unlike other Roaming services Rodopi
Club™ Roaming doesn’t require special proprietary
software to be installed.
Q. Do I still need
to provide Mail and News services, for my clients
using POP-Depot?
A. Yes. POP-Depot provides connectivity only. You
still need to provide mail and news services to your
clients.
Q. Do I need to
install a new version of RODOPI Software?
A. Flat fee roaming is supported by Rodopi 5.0 or
newer with this module.
Per minute roaming is supported by older versions.
Q. Do I need some kind
of registration with Rodopi Club to start roaming?
A. Yes. There is a simple 10 minute setup procedure
over the phone. Please call your RODOPI representative
at 877 - 4-RODOPI, (877-476-3674), or e-mail support@rodopi.com
for someone to call you back.
Q. How will other
participants in the club know my dial-in phone
numbers?
A. As a part of the setup procedure you will be
assigned a personalized web enabled on-line form for
you to enter all your dial-in numbers. This form will
remain active and available to you for upgrades,
updates etc. It is your best interest to reflect ALL
your numbers there, since Rodopi Club will be buying
services from you. More dial-in numbers listed mean
more exposure and more sales for you.
Q. How will my
customers know of other members' dial-in numbers?
A. These phone numbers are listed on the "list
roaming phones" link on the homepage of your
Rodopi 5.x with service pack 1. This will lead you to
a search tool similar to: (http://www.rodopi.com/listphones.html)
You will need to place short instructions and a link
to that list at your home page. The instructions for
your customers are pretty simple. They need to select
a dial-in number from the list and to use customer@xyz.com
as a login name and their regular password as login
password. "customer" is the regular login
name of your customer, and xyz.com is your domain.
NOTE: For those who use previous versions of Rodopi or
Rodopi 5.x without service pack 1, extract this
zip file which will supply you with information on
how to update your Rodopi.
Q. How do I update/edit
information connected with Roaming. For example,
dial-in numbers and IP addresses?
A. To update your roaming information, go to the customer
support section of Rodopi 4 Rodopi. Choose
View/edit plan details > dial-in roaming. Here, you
will be able to edit telephone numbers, IP addresses
and all information connected with Roaming.
Q. If a POP is not
working, how will I contact the provider ISP to tell
them it is not working?
A. Use this link: (http://www.rodopi.com/listphones.html)
to find out the dial-in number. For every POP there is
a button labeled "Details" which gives
information about the POP. To see this info you need
to authorize yourself as a Rodopi Roaming Club Member
(an ISP that has a Roaming Plan).
Q. What happens in
flat-rate roaming if a customer dials into several
POPs in a given month?
A. Flat-rate roaming is sold for the POPs of a single
ISP only. Thus a flat rate roaming customer would only
have access to the POPs of one ISP. If the flat rate
roaming customer uses several ISPs POPs, they will be
charged for the use of each POP separately. (Ex. ISP
A, B and C's POPs, they will be charged $7x3=$21). A
flat fee roaming customer could use per minute roaming
as well, and thus gain access to all POPs.
Q. I am interested
in selling POPs, but I am not interested in buying
any. Is that a problem?
A. Not at all. You can use POP-Depot, without offering
your customers use of any of POP-Depot's POPs. Thus
your POPs will become available to other ISPs and if
they use them you will receive a check from Rodopi
Clearing House.
Q. Can my ISP join
the Roaming Club as a seller only of our dial-in
services?
A. Yes. You can do this. As far as you do not
advertise it to your customers you will be a seller
only. You will be getting your monthly check from
Rodopi Clearing House. To be a successful seller make
sure you list all your dial-in numbers and all cities.
Q. How much do I
need to spend to get in?
A. The only expense we see is the purchase of a Radius
Proxy Server and the setup fee. Last time we checked,
there was a good Proxy Radius Server software for NT
on the market for as low as $450. And the setup fee is
$200. Your total cost may be as low as $650.
Q. How do I get compensated for my
expense?
A. You’ll be getting a great marketing advantage by
offering "free internet roaming". This will
increase your subscriptions and will reduce the dollar
amount you spend per subscription. With flat fee
roaming you can also subscribe accounts from any POP
in POP-Depot. This has the potential to greatly
increase your customer base.
Q. Can I charge my
customers for roaming?
A. Yes. You have the option of charging your customers
for roaming.
Q. We are still in
a process of implementing Rodopi software and we do
not feel very comfortable with the product yet.
Wouldn't Rodopi Roaming add to this discomfort?
A. Absolutely NOT. At the first level of
implementation Rodopi Roaming is totally independent
of your Rodopi billing software. It works through a
central server Rodopi Clearing House located at a
central location. All you need to do is install a
Proxy Radius Server at your location.
Q. Can I join
Rodopi Club as a seller providing metered roaming
services only, not unlimited flat fee service.
A. Yes. You can do that. However, Rodopi Club members
can not do the reverse - to offer flat fee services
only without offering metered roaming services.
Q. I'm using POP
Depot, but some of the POPs listed are not active,
others have frequent busy signals. Who takes care of
the quality of the service?
A. If you encounter any problems please notify the
owner of such POPs to improve the service or take it
off from POP Depot. Notify us as well at police@rodopi.com
. If the owner does not take care and the problems
persist, we will remove such POPs from the network.
Q. I want to buy
services from POP Depot, but I want to use only
selected vendors not all of them. Can I do this?
A. Yes you can. It is a matter of setting up the plans
in your Rodopi. Go to: administration -> service
plans -> plan info -> add new plan info In the
first section you will see "Plan visible
to:" and a list of all available vendors. You may
choose "All providers" or select just one or
few of them.
Q. I see that
MegaPOP network is included in Rodopi Club, at higher
price. If I pay more, can I charge my customers more
for this particular network only and charge them less
for services by other vendors of the Club.
A. Yes you can. It is a matter of setting up the plans
in your Rodopi. Go to: administration -> service
plans -> plan info -> add new plan info In the
first section you will see "Plan visible
to:" and a list of all available vendors. This
will allow you to create different plans for different
providers. If provider XYZ is less expensive than
provider ABC, you may create one more expensive plan
using XYZ's services and another less expensive plan
using ABC's services.
Q. Can I be a
virtual ISP using POP Depot?
A. Yes you can. You can offer dial-in services
nationwide without having a single POP of your own and
without running any servers. Contact your Rodopi
representative and ask about Rodopi outsource program.
Q. We have
multiple Rodopi installations ( MISP ). Can we use POP
Depot from each one of our MISP.
A. Yes. You can. Some adjustment needs to be done to
your account (no charge). Please contact your Rodopi
representative if you need this feature activated.
